**BUMP!**
Just learned yesterday that a
sneak peak (of at least the the animation and character design) of Nickelodeon's
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been online since March of this year.

Notice that Donatello and Michelangelo's weapons are not what they seem. Instead of a bo Don has
naginata, and Michelangelo is using
kusarigama instead of nunchaku. Both 'upgrades' have blades on them. (I guess their old weapons were too tame.)

Slimed version.
Poster:

Notice that the poster conveniently hides any change to Don and Mike's weapons. There's little adjustments to previous designs as well: they're all wearing tape on their hands and Donatello has a gap in his teeth(?) And they've got eyes.
There also was an
"Mutation in Progress" event at Comic-Con advertising the tv show, turtle toys and pizza. Read a great review of the event
HERE at
www.ninjapizza.net.
For me the most interesting change has to do with April:
...Nickelodeon thought it was "pretty creepy" that a 30-ish woman would hang out with four teenage turtle boys, so she's been aged down to 16. She will eventually be trained by Splinter to become a kunoichi, or female ninja.
I wonder if they also thought it was "pretty creepy" that Donatello had a crush on the same 30-ish woman?

So some personal thoughts:
I never expected movie-quality graphics, all the same the cgi in the sneak peak looks bad. Despite that they've still got til 2012 to make changes/improvements.
Love them pupils. The white eyeballs worked for the majority of the last series, but I've always preferred iris-ed turtles. I also like that that general color selection on the turtles looks the same.
Waiting to see if this new mutation will blend intense action and comedy as good as something like
Avatar: The Last Airbender achieved. I want to laugh with (and at) these guys, but the humor should be balanced with some serious fighting scenes. I'd be in for sure.
