It would be, but it's not unheard of. Fantasia got a two-hour movie and an hour long documentary.

Yay for confirmed special edition of Pete's Dragon!!
Yay! I was almost going to buy the Gold Collection edition recently, but decided not to. Good thing I didn't. I'll just wait a few months more and get this new edition. :)

If this true that Pete's getting a new special edition this fall, does that mean that Bedknobs is getting a special edition as well?

I've never seen this movie, and I've been holding off on buying it because of that. Now that this new SE is coming I might finally get around to it. This is an exciting year for releases!

I was considering buying both of these movies recently. Glad I didn't! I could kinda see these being released under the new "Walt Disney Family Classics" line that they just re-released the Witch Mountain movies on. They might just be releases (they probably will be), but I could see them being added to the line.

I hope they have commentary with Mickey Rooney (I think he's still with us?)

I have the GCC DVD that I got only two months ago and will likely double dip.

But then in 3 years there might be a Blu Ray.......
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

He was at the Oscars the year and he still seemed healthy/spunky but he SOUNDS just like his old man voice though.... He was a part of the new Miser Brothers Christmas this past year and no longer needs to put on a ‘Santa’ voice. But yes he IS still with us and I wish he'd do a commentary though.

Mostly like this edition will have music videos of current disney stars, such as

Hannah Montanta - Candle on the Water or Brazzle Dazzle Day, but i highly doubt she'd do Brazzle.

I hope they actually included features that are worth watching.

I'd really like to see a featurette on the lighthouse that was constructed for the film, and what happend to it afterwards.

I read that Disney is planning a Blu-ray release of Bedknobs And Broomsticks for Fall 2010. Maybe the DVD will come then ?
And maybe Pete's Dragon will hit Blu around then as well.

Also there is rumour that quite a few of the non-Platinum CAPS films will be hitting Blu-ray beginning in 2010.

That is neat :) I have not got my Bolt Dvd yet, but I have my Bolt Blu-ray and I did not see anything about Pete's Dragon on any insert on my Bolt Blu-ray. When I get my Bolt Dvd I will look for this.

Other way around.

DVD of Bolt is just DVD.

Blu-ray of Bolt comes with DVD in package.

NO, not other way around. He says he has the Blu-ray, so what I'm saying is that it comes with a DVD, and all the features on it. No need to buy the DVD again, unless it's for someone else.

Sometimes I will get the same movie in both Blu-ray and Dvd. For one thing it's fun to compare them. With Bolt I thought about only getting the Blu-ray since it also have the Dvd in there. But I am so close to having all of the dvd editions of Disney's Animated Classics, that I made the choice to also get the 2 disc dvd version of Bolt also. Since I am so close I might as well go all the way and have the whole dvd collection of Disney's Animated Classics :)

petes dragon is starting to sound really jam packed, well for a non vault disney disc live action title, but its old release was pretty good too. so, well see.
Walt Disney always belived in quality, bring the quality back.

I want to see two things from this up coming re-release.

1. A well produced making-of documentary.

2. Featurette or short documentary on the lighthouse built for the film.

Disney think you can do that, or would that be strecthing your finance's
