Eww..It has the Disney Fast Play. Looks like bringing the classic shows out in volume may be over. I don't get Disney. They finally do something right then they screw up. It's like they take one step fordward and then one back.
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

Well, Fastplay is just a fancy way of saying "it plays out in order without you doing anything", which is ok by me with TV on DVD.

I do agree with the second bit. Disney get the message that people like boxsets and they stop. That said, we don't know how many they sold. The market for these older cartoons is extremely limited, and the single compilation DVD has always proven to be a winner for Disney (or so it seems, because they keep releasing the damn things).

In the UK and Australia, we get so many of the little buggers it is getting wacky. At least you guys GET the full boxes and Treasures.

3-episode compilation =

I'll wait for season sets, passing on these compilations like I do for every TV show (except the '90s animated "Wizard of Oz" and "Primetime Glick" because who knows if they will ever make it to box sets).

I wonder if future Disney DVD releases will be condemed to the complications such as this one. What will the future hold for other classics such as Gummi Bears and the rest of the Ducktales and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers episodes?

I actually don't mind this news at all.

As you saw earlier, I'm by no means, a fan of Quack Pack, so I don't need to pick that up anyway.

As for Goof Troop, I really liked the show, but I wasn't sure if I liked it enough to buy season sets.

So I'll be glad to pick up about 3 3-episode volumes of Goof Troop.

Now I'm sure dye-hard fans of these series are disappointed, but for me, it works just fine! :)

Wouldn't 5 more on the disc for the same price work even better? (Or, a complete season set for the price of two or three of these... that's 26 eps vs. 9)

what i dont get is why exactly they are releasing this as only a 3 episode volume, a dvd can easily hold up to 8-9 episodes...if they were to sell Good Troop in 9 episode volumes...Ir's roughly 8 volumes to get all of goof tropp on dvd...honestly if they werent planning on doing season sets they couldve very easily done a 9 episode volume one, if it sells well do a 2 disc volume two, and move further. Disney is really dumb when it comes to these choices.

I'm probably one of the few, but I was REALLY looking forward to Quack Pack. However I won't be picking it up since it is a crappy effort with only 3 episodes! :(

Me too! I loved Quack Pack! But I really can't waste my money buying something like a 3-episode compilation. I NEED THE MULTI DISC SETS!! Does Disney actually think that things like these could be profitable?
Hey I just thought of something! How could they make money?! BY GIVING THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!! COME ON DISNEY! DONT BE STUPID!! WE WANT BOX SETS!!

3 episodes, and they are charging $14.99. What a rip off. You can buy DuckTales volume one for $29.99. 24 more episodes for fifteen more dollars.

That's not a fair comparison, because you're using the 3-episode discs' SRP and a modestly-discounted price for DuckTales. $9.99-$12.99 is a more reasonable price you'll see for these Valentine's Day FastPlay. But yes, it does amount to more than 3x as much per episode. But then Disney has been charging $10 for an hour of animation (or more for less, with the Princess line) for quite some time now. Just not on stuff tailored for collectors.

Wow somehow I missed the price for it!

$10.00 for 3 episodes! Yeah that is REALLY expensive! I was hoping they were around $5.00!

But still if I end up buying all the other DVDS I want(which is very unlikely) I will probably pick up 2 of the Goof Troop volumes sometime!

I do agree that the releases are bad, they just don't affect me because I don't like Quack Pack and I'd be fine with only 6-9 episodes of Goof Troop. Even though I really liked the show, I didn't love it enough to buy season sets.

I just wish Disney would make it MUCH cheaper. If they did make it into $5.00, I'd pick up 3 volumes and be happy.

I just hope they don't do this to Darkwing Duck and Tale Spin. I mean I can understand why Disney would release these shows poorly, since they weren't too popular to begin with, but if they release Darkwing Duck and Tale Spin like this then: :headshake:

I am sure Disney did ruin their customers lives. I'm sure a suicide hotline has been set up for people so they have a guiding hand away from the bridge near the river convincing them that life isn't so bad with 3 episode Quack Pack and Goof Troop DVDs. ;)

In fact, I think that was there aim. I can see the conversation now.

Disney Exec #1: Hey, doing well this year. Fans seem happy too. We gave them two Platinum titles, box sets of some of the more popular TV shows, loads of catalog titles, a new theme park...

Disney Exec #2: Yeah, I know...

DE1: Oh, don't be so disappointed. There's always next year.

DE2: Yeah! I know! How about this! We mess with the fans on Quack Pack and Goof Troop! That'll teach 'em to buy from us!

DE1: See, I knew you'd cheer up.

This must be at least part of the reason why Disney continues to release these, though. There seem to be many people who, though they don't think this is a proper release, will buy these things anyway. If you ask me, everyone here should avoid these things on principle.

I hope this doesn't signal the start of a new trend for Disney TV on DVD, though. Now that they've started releasing Ducktales and Chip 'N Dale as multi-disc volumes, they'd better continue instead of switching to these 3-episode volumes. Also, I'd hope they won't release Darkwing Duck and Tail Spin in this way, or I won't be able to buy them.

I agree, but the problem with that is that Disney will get the wrong idea as to why people aren't buying them. It's a mistake that Disney makes quite often. If nobody buys them, Disney will just think: "Well, nobody is buying these things, they must not like the shows we're releasing." I don't think they will even consider the fact that people aren't buying them because of THE WAY they're releasing the shows.
