Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse

Post by musicradio77 »

On this day in 1928, Walt Disney released "Steamboat Willie" and Mickey Mouse was introduced to the world. 77 years later, he still charms our hearts. From Steamboat Willie to the Sorcerer's Apprentice to the role of Jack in "Mickey and the Beanstalk" to Bob Crachit and one of the musketeers, Mickey has filled many of our favorite roles. He has even opened his own cartoon club. When Walt Disney released Mickey Mouse he "made a golden star for the silver screen". Congratulations Mickey. And may you shine brightly for many years. Happy birthday Mickey Mouse!!

And behind every great man...or mouse, is an even greater woman...or female mouse. Minnie has been right beside Mickey every step of the way. She also made her debut in "Seamboat Willie". She's come a long way from the day she rushed to catch the steamboat. And no woman has ever waited as long as she has for her guy to pop the question. Will Mickey ever propose? Only time will tell. And I have to admit, they both look extremely good for their age. Happy birthday Minnie Mouse!!

So, today, as you read this thread, respond with your favorite Mickey/Minnie memory and send your birthday wishes to Hollywood's greatest couple!!

Thanks to joplin4 for posting this thread on Mrs. Nesbit's Disney Forum. Happy birthday, Mickey!

Happy birthday boss! It was fun working for you for 7 months!

BTW, anyone know if Mickey has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Cause if Ryan Seacrest can get one (craziness, huh?), Mickey sure as hell better have one!

I think I'm a very lucky guy because my birthday is 18th of November, too!!! I wish I could have this lucky star that shines above Mickey- to tell the truth though, I actually like Donald more than I like Mickey. One day before my birthday, that is 17th of November, is the first release of THE LITTLE MERMAID which is, together with Aladdin, my favourite animated feature ever!!! I think it was fatal for me to stuck with everything Disney.!

Happy belated birthday, Mickey Mouse! :pink: :pink:

I think this picture is very appropriate for Mickey's birthday. It represents how far Disney has come thanks to the little mouse. Happy birthday Mickey, and congrats of the legacy you've created.

Incorrect.

Mickey Mouse was introduced on May 15, 1928 in his first cartoon, titled " Mickey Mouse In Plane Crazy " (Walt shortened the title to "Plane Crazy" in 1930 when he copyrighted the sound version).

In August of 1928, Walt & his staff produced Mickey Mouse's second cartoon feature; "The Gallopin' Gaucho".

Steamboat Willie was Mickey Mouse's third cartoon.

The world originally met Mickey Mouse half a year before Steamboat Willie was released.
