Stanley

Post by teentails »

I want to make a dub for the children's show on playhouse disney "stanley" I was wondering if anybody has the show on dvd (like hop to it or springtime) and if anybody can burn any episode on a blank cd rom. I used to have it on dvd but I lost it and they don't sell them anymore around any local stores where I live.

One reason I think Stanley is popular

Post by teentails »

Don't you think one reason why stanley is so popular is because Elsie the cat has a "Sonic type attitude" where she acts as if she's hot stuff and because Harry is so funny because he's stupid makes the cat dog combo enjoyable to watch on the show. Without Elsie and Harry the show probably wouldn't be as interesting to watch am I right?

For anyone older than the age of 6 I'm sure that's true. But I think that for the targeted age group it's more about the different types of animals and the situations that Stanley finds himself in.

It is a very good show for children from 1 and up and it is very educational. Forget all the memorable characters, I like it because it keeps the grandkids attention for more than a minute.

Between Stanley - Arthur, Rolie Poli Olie, and Bear in a Big Blue House, my grandkids really are kept entertained by these.

I think Harry and Elsie should have their own cartoon series. That would be cool!

can someone help me finish a script with "Stanley"

Post by teentails »

hey I just wanna ask if anybody can help me finish this script of "Stanley" I have. you see I'm planning to show it to a flash animator to see if he'll make a flashmovie out of it. Here's what I came out so far.

the story

A Stanley Fanfic

from the children's series "Stanley" from Playhouse Disney

"Elsie's time off"

At the Griff's house Elsie the Cat arose from Stanley Griff's bed and walked toward the kitchen
and wanted something to eat so when she arrived she climbed on top of the kitchen counter and tipped
over the cat box and managed to get some food on her very own cat bowl. She was so hungry that she
ate every since bite and as soon as she finished she became a little bored. She knew that Stanley goes to
school every weekday and finding ways to torment Dennis (Stanley's goldfish) by singing the "Great Big Book
of Everything" song that she sings with her canine companion. Suddenly she heard a noise "What's that" asked Elsie. She heard her
compadre a male ugly dog named Harry. Harry used the top of the ironing mat that Stanley's mom uses a lot and Harry
rolled down the stairs as a surfboard. "SURF's UP DUDE". To Elsie's suprise she covered her ears to make
sure noone heard Harry trumbling through the stairs. Elsie had a upset look on her voice "Harry what are you trying to
do get us in trouble? As clueless as Harry he said "Sorry Elsie" As soon as Harry planed to have his breakfast like Elsie did
. They thought of what to do that day when their friend Stanley was gone.
"So what do you want to do Elsie?" asked Harry. "I want to go somewhere where I can just relax and sleep". Harry said "Oh Oh let's go
to the beach"
Elsie panicked
"What? I'm not going to the beach. I hate water!" ."yeah but you don't have to swim you can just lie and relax on the sand" Harry said
"Allright but I'm not going in the water". "Lets bring Dennis with us"
The cat and the dog decided to bring Stanley's friend Dennis and Elsie also brought the "Great Big Book of Everything" to look up animals on the beach
and to torment Dennis with their traditional song that they sing in every episode (Of course Dennis was unaware of what elsie was planning) anyway Dennis was
unsure it was such a good idea to go to the beach without Stanley or any of his family members. "Are you sure you two want to do this" asked Dennis. "Yeah dude
the beach is cool" "I only decided to go because Harry wanted to go" said Elsie." "you know its a long walk to the beach we wouldn't be back in time before stanley
comes back from school" Elsie thought for a minute "I know why don't we look up an animal and go inside the (winked at Harry) . "The what?" said harry. "You know what?"
Dennis was confused "the what?" "you mean the "Great Big" suddenly dennis slapped his mouth closed realizing that Elsie and Harry were ready to sing the one sing that Dennis hated so much.
"Oh no they're going to sing that song again I just know it"

"It's the Great Big BOok of Everything with everything inside see the world around us, this book
the perfect guide"

Dennis shouted "WILL YOU STOP THE SINGING ALREADY"

"in this book we will learn the creatures of the beach"

and the cat and dog once again succeeded to torment Dennis' life after finishing up their song

"oy I hate it when they do that" Elsie and Harry heard what Dennis said and snickered and high fived each other to show
what a great time they had.

:) I don't think I have.

Endings are pretty hard but I'm sure if you think about it you can come up with something great.

I know what I do when I'm writing endings... I go for the big tragedy. But I think for a kids' show, that would be kind of like defeating the purpose...

I've seen every episode of this show about 80 times (I have a 7 year old). I'll read it later and see if I can give any ideas :)
