This thread exists to help the forum member assigned to get a present for you to know your likes, wants, and interests. If you maintain lists of DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, plush dolls, McDonald's toys, cereal boxes, or anything of that sort that you collect and would welcome expanding, you are encouraged to share the links to those lists here. If you don't, no problem.

Either way, please share some other details about yourself: things like your age, your gender (if your username and real name do not make that clear), your T-shirt size, your favorite movies, characters, colors, genres, collections, etc. This works best when the member assigned to buy for you gets a clear sense of you and your tastes. Feel free to list specific items you would love to get, but know that no one is required to get something off such lists. All of us here love our DVDs and Blu-rays, but feel free to be brave and choose something less traditional.

A little surprise and personal thought goes a long way to make this experience memorable. And it should be memorable! It is the one time of the year when a significant portion of our little community interacts with one another in a shared experience. How many people do you know who can claim they'll be receiving a present from someone in any part of the world that they don't know in real life?

It can really be anything you see fit as long as you try to keep it in the $20 US range. That is not a hard and fast limit; depending on weight and method, shipping to a foreign part of the world can easily run you a little bit and remember if you're having someone else ship the main gift directly, you are still expected to send at the very least a card or letter. So be prepared to go over it slightly, but remember that it's easy to add value at minimal cost. If you are assigned someone in a foreign country or even just a different part of the country, consider that something you might take for granted might very be seen as exotic or special there, something as cheap or free as newspaper sections or local exhibit brochures.

It obviously would be wise to check out some of your assigned recipient's other posts if you are not already familiar with them from your time together here.

Also, please consider in your purchases and your posts here different formats and region codes. Specify if you have the equipment to play foreign discs, etc. Most of this won't apply to you, because we only have a few participants outside the US, but better to be safe than sorry.

If you have any additional questions that you think might apply to everyone, feel free to post them here. And remember once you have your assigned recipient to keep that a secret. Until you send out your gift, at which point you should make it clear who you are (don't forget to include your forum name too!).

Assignments should go out on Monday and if you have not received one by then, I'll ask you to post here and we'll get it sorted out.

Thanks again for doing your part to make this the most fun Secret Santa we've ever had!

The list has been finalized, with a late but not too late registration to bring us up to 19. I am about to start doing the random assignments. No turning back now! Let's try and get more of those wish lists/about you posted soon, because there are a couple of participants outside the US whose shipments to and from might well take a little longer. Thanks!

I have been extra good this year... and with that out of the way as I try to every year, I'm Skyler. :) I'm 19 now but in a week and a half I turn 20. My favourite colour isGREEN. My favorite shows currently airing new episodes on TV are The Office and Doctor Who (with Glee, How I Met Your Mother, and Parks & Rec being close by). Hey, Secret Santa!! My name's David and I've strove to be really good this year. I am a male and currently 19 years old (I simply cannot fathom the fact that I'll be 20 in less than 3 months!). I have a shirt size of Adult Medium (although sometimes Small fits, too, but Medium would probably be best). I'm an avid film and book enthusiast; I would literally love to read/watch movies all the time if I could (unfortunately, I can't). I really enjoy the Harry Potter series along with anything by the magnificent late Madeleine L'Engle. I'm also really falling in love with a bunch of HBO/Showtime shows (such as Six Feet Under, True Blood, Shameless, Enlightened, Weeds) and some FX shows, too (Nip/Tuck, Wilfred). Others include Survivor, Glee, The Voice, New Girl, Grimm. I also quite like musical theater, and music in general (especially music by Florence + the Machine, Adele and Rihanna). And, of course, I'm a huge fan of Disney! Fantasia is my favorite film, followed closely by The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. I don't really collect anything Disney related besides the films themselves and any pieces by Jim Shore (I absolutely love Jim Shore's sculptures). Wow! I guess I gave a whole lot of ideas, so surprise me Santa!

Here's a partial list of some of the films/books that I'm interested in (with UD links to Amazon):

Movies:
Alice in Wonderland (2010) Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy*
American Beauty: Sapphire Series Blu-ray
The Boys: The Sherman Brothers’ Story DVD
A Bug's Life Blu-ray/DVD*
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Blu-ray
Donnie Darko: 10th Anniversary Blu-ray
Dumbo: 70th Anniversary Blu-ray*
Easy A Blu-ray
Forrest Gump: Sapphire Series Blu-ray*
Frank and Ollie: Special Edition DVD
The Parent Trap (1998): Special Double Trouble Edition DVD
The Red Shoes (Criterion Collection) Blu-ray*
The Sound of Music: 45th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray/DVD*
Waking Sleeping Beauty DVD*
Walt & El Grupo DVD
Water for Elephants Blu-ray/Digital Copy

TV Shows:
The Muppets Show: Season One*
Ugly Betty: Season Three

Books (in hardcover if at all possible):
Ape House by Sara Gruen
Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay*
Gone With the Wind: 75th Anniversary Edition by Margaret Mitchell*
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling (it’s the only one I don’t have in hardcover)*
The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman
A Lion Among Men by Gregory Maguire
Little Bee by Chris Cleave*
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
The Picture of Dorian Gray (Penguin Classics) by Oscar Wilde*
Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire
Tale as Old as Time: The Art and Making of Beauty and the Beast by Charles Solomon

CDs:
Anything Goes: New Broadway Cast Recording
The Head and the Heart
Tron: Legacy - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

* denotes a stronger desire than the others; but I am more than grateful to receive anything on this list or anything that my Secret Santa comes up with! I would also prefer if the item(s) is/are new (I kind of have a germ thing).

Thank you so much Secret Santa! And I hope I haven't given too many options

Dear Secret Santa,

Ah yes, The Annual UD Secret Santa. It's that time of year again, isn't it? This is my sixth time participating, and I never get tired of doing it. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Joshua and I am 23 years old (making me the oldest member so far to participate). I have been on my best behavior most of the year I must say. My shirt size is a medium I own and am a huge fan of all 12 of Pixar's films (despite the most recent film, Cars 2, being a letdown) My favorite Disney characters are Stitch, Pluto, Donald Duck and Goofy. My favorite Disney animated movie is a tie between Aladdin and 101 Dalmatians. I am also becoming interested in collecting comic books and graphic novels (which I kind of started this year), mainly the ones involving Spider-Man, X-Men and Batman comics (even though I do not have that many of them). I also enjoy comic strips too, my favorites being Peanuts, Garfield (pre-2000) The Far Side, and Calvin and Hobbes. Finally and, obviously, like everybody else, I enjoy watching movies, genres including animation, science fiction and comedy. I also really love Mystery Science Theater 3000, already owning most of the box sets (except for volume 9, which is VERY rare and volume XX) as well as the essentials set on DVD.

I have posted a list below of the things I'd like to receive the most this year. I have been pretty careful to stay in the $20 limit.

DVDS
Son of Kong
The Thing From Another World
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
The Marx Brothers Collection*
TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Sci-Fi Adventures (Them! The Beast from 20,000 Fanthoms/World Without End/Satellite in the Sky)
TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Hitchcock Thrillers (Suspision/Strangers on a Train/The Wrong Man/I Confess)
Doctor Who DVDs (Any Except The Beginning set. I'm already asking for this one from somebody else. I have posted several titles in a wish list here.)

Shout! Online-Exclusive DVDs
Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies!(Only available online)*
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Beginning of the End(Only available online)*

Books
Batman Chronicles Volume 2 (Or any volume beyond that. I already own Batman Chronicles Volume 1, in case you're wondering)
The Amazing Spider-Man Volume 1(Marvel Masterworks)(Or Volume 2 would suffice)*
X-Men Volume 1(Marvel Masterworks)(Again, Volume 2 Would suffice)*
Batman: Hush
The Complete Peanuts 1950-1952*
The Complete Peanuts 1955-1956*
The Complete Peanuts 1957-1958(I already own volume two BTW)*

Wishful Thinking
Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse in Black & White Vol 1 (I already have vol 2)
Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol 1 (I already have vol 2)
Walt Disney Treasures: Silly Symphonies
Walt Disney Treasures: The Complete Goofy
Song of the South

Also, please feel free to add anything else (something small) you may thing I may like as well. Happy Holidays and Happy Shopping :santa:  :santa:

*= Things I'd most like to receive.

Here is my wishlist below this paragraph via amazon.com....the titles on the wishlist are not in any specific order. Also clothing usually doesn't work well for me. I tend to be a 6XL or a 7XL when it comes to shirts. Also on my wishlist, I don't mind if you get an item used, whether or not you get it from amazon or anywhere else New or Used.

http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist ... l_rlist_go

EDIT and UPDATE. I've updated my wish list, I've added a few things, but what I add are items I don't have.

and If my secret Cindy Lou Who is outside the USA, I can only use Region 1 DVDs or Region 0. The Same goes for Blu Ray would be Region A or not region locked.

Also my favorite color is green

Hello, my Secret Santa! I have participated in UD's Secret Santa since I joined in 2007 (... I may have skipped a year now that I think about it...), and reminiscing about UD always leads me back to this annual event. As Luke pointed out in the Sign-Up thread, this is probably the most iconic thing about UD. That said, every year is a success simply because the forum members are so kind and giving that they are willing to purchase and send gifts to someone they may only barely know!

My name is Daniel, and I'm in high school (later years). My shirt size is Adult medium or large (Will specify if a link contains a shirt). I am very in to making movies - cinema is and always has been my main passion in life, and I hope to become a filmmaker post-college. So, that's one thing to look out for! Any classic film memorabilia, etc. Some of my favorite films include The Dreamers, Scream, American Beauty, It's A Wonderful Life!, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Drive, Chasing Amy, etc. Directors I love include David Lynch, Bernardo Bertolucci, Woody Allen, Wes Craven, both Coppolas, Martin Scorcese, Steven Spielberg (whatever!), and Tim Burton pre- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. My favorite television shows are Friends, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, Twin Peaks, Arrested Development, and Boy Meets World. I also love music; my favorite artists are Florence + the Machine, Alanis Morissette, Bon Iver, Ray Lamontagne, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews Band, The Smiths, etc. I love to play the piano! Another hobby of mine is reading, and my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, The Secret History by Donna Tartt (doubt this helps with anything...), and anything by Stephen King, Bret Easton Ellis, and Haruki Murakami. A smaller interest is musical theatre, specifically Next to Normal, Rent, and Sondheim. I am also in love with both New York City and France, so anything from those areas would be fantastic.

So, I think that should cover my interests.

Happy Holidays! :santa:

Dear Santa,
I've been a very good girl all year. I am 19 years old. I'm a huge Disney fan, of course, but I also enjoy animated films from other companies and live action movies. My favorite all-time movie is Toy Story, but my favorite DAC is The Fox and the Hound, my favorite live action is Star Wars, and my favorite non-Disney animated movie is Balto. I love reading, especially fantasy books. Some of my favorite authors are C. S. Lewis, Ursula K. LeGuin, Susan Cooper, and A. A. Milne. I like to wear screened tees, but the sizing might be hard to get right. In general (for tight-fitting babydoll shirts), I wear a large or an extra-large, but if it's not a fitted shirt, a medium might be all right. I like collecting things, mainly animated movies and film soundtracks. I'm on an obsessive mission to own all 51 DACs and soundtracks (I honestly don't know where I'm going to put them, though :P). I don't have a Blu-Ray player (or HD TV), but I'm trying to start buying Blu-Rays so I won't be completely behind the times. But honestly, if I don't have a movie at all, or only on VHS, I'd be thrilled to have it in any format. As for music, I love classical music, soundtracks, alternative, folk, oldies, Celtic, and bluegrass. Some of my favorite artists are Keane, Imogen Heap, Coldplay, the Wailin' Jennys, and the Beach Boys. I'm rather sick at the moment, so I don't think I'll post each of my wishlist items. Instead, if it's all right, I'll post a link to my Amazon wishlist. Please don't think you have to buy off of it. Buy whatever you want. And, I don't mind used items at all. You'll find a lot of the items on my wishlist are only available used. I mostly buy myself used CDs and movies. I'll be happy with whatever I receive. And even though it's before Thanksgiving, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :santa:

My wishlist

I'll try updating and posting the link to my existing movie collection just to make sure there's no duplicates.

Dear Secret Santa,

Happy Holidays! I've been working on my proper letter for you for some time. It's currently saved onto my computer at home, and you'll see it by the end of this week. ;) I actually had some free time today as my morning class was canceled (Professor was sick, send good thoughts her way!). So I figured I'd stop by here and let you know how I was doing. This gives me a chance to spend more time getting to know you. Actually, it gives you more of a chance to get to know me. But if you don't know me by now, maybe you never knew me at all. Wait, I'm confusing things. I used that line in my proper letter. Oh, well. Let's just get to the mashed potatoes...

This past year was quite interesting, and while I wasn't an active part of the forums for much of it, I was always checking on the web site and dutifully leaving "likes" and comments on Facebook. UD has become a very big part of my online life, and it was difficult for me to finally decide to leave the forums last May. Even more difficult trying to find a way to explain why in September. Instead, I opted to just offer my thanks, tell everyone "good night," and let my last moment be some immortal words sung by Bea Arthur.

Of course, things change, and when I got an e-mail from Luke telling me that UD was having a Secret Santa this year, I was overjoyed. Not just for the thrill of participating again, but for Luke. It's been such a harrowing year for him, and Secret Santa - while not always an easy task to oversee - signalled a return to normalcy. It became more than a celebration of the forum's community and much much more than the opportunity for gift-giving. This was a testament to the endurance and the perseverance of Luke. Coming back to UD (if briefly) for Secret Santa was my way of offering thanks, once again. Thank you to both Luke and to all the Secret Santas (myself included). Let's make this the most exciting Secret Santa ever!

:santa:

Your Secret Cindy Lou Who,
Albert

I thought it was you, Escapay, who put "How was your summer? How is your wife?" in your SS letter every year. And I forgot you like making a mention of mashed potatos in your SS letters till I read your letter to your SS for this year.

To my Secret Santa, I'll have my wish list up today or tomorrow. :)

Dear Secret Santa,

How are you? I hope you are doing well! I promise I'll have my wish list up soon! In about 15 minutes I'll be attending my last class before I end for Thanksgiving break which is a whole week. Then, I will finally have my list up.

Anyways, the holidays are just around the corner so I hope you find time now and then to enjoy it with your loved ones. :)

I'll end my post with a holiday song by Michael Buble!:

Haha, that's JiminyCrick91 who always does that. :P

Anyway, here's my letter...

Dear Secret Santa,

I hope you weren't expecting any light reading. Sit back, grab a bowl of Milk Buds, Mashed Potatoes, and wrap a blanket around yourself. Come forth and know me better...

But I think at this point, if you don't know me by now, you will never, never, never know me.

Hey, that gave me an idea. Rather than have myself explain who I am to you, I should do it through song! It'll be like "Glee," only this letter won't include any autotuning or haters with nothing better to do. Unfortunately, that also means it's without fun characters like Brittany, Mike Chang, and Rory the Leprechaun. Not to be confused with Rory the Roman. Ah, Rory. One of the more unique companions ever on "Doctor Who." He never falls for the spell that the Doctor casts on his other companions, and is always grounded in the reality of life even when taken on spectacular adventures. He's the most human of them all.

Anyway, if I'm going to "Glee" this up, I should probably find a song that can sufficiently explain my love for things like "Doctor Who." I'm sure Chameleon Circuit wrote a trock song for this, and if Skyler can find one for me (he knows more about Time Lord Rock than I ever would), I'll insert it here. For now, rather than use a trock song that'll provide exposition, I'll just throw in a fun little ditty that was on "The Weakest Link" about five years ago.

<center><object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FtdGwiMtZ08?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FtdGwiMtZ08?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

Actually, since I'm talking "Doctor Who," maybe I should use something from the current Doctor. Watch Matt Smith as he briefly sings "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to the baby who plays Alfie a.k.a. Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All!

<center><object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BsCA79xWdjU?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BsCA79xWdjU?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

It's so difficult finding a proper place to start. Where should I start? Where do you start?

<center><object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/J0BPT0Oavl4?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/J0BPT0Oavl4?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

That song actually was a bit of a downer. But hey, it was sung by Bea Arthur, who always played my favorite Golden Girl, Dorothy Zbornak. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure in the past I might have said it was one of the others. Truthfully, I'm a lot like Dorothy. She studied to be a teacher, as am I. She watches "Jeopardy!" religiously, as do I. She can reach the low bass note in "Ol' Man River," and I...know the words to the song. However, I didn't get knocked up in high school and stay married to Stanley Zbornak for 38 years. BUT...I did see the movie Knocked Up, and there was a Stanley in my Voice and Diction class. But that Stanley was from Washington, not Brooklyn. And I don't think he ever sold plastic vomit or George Bush Point of Light on a Stick. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't know what he's doing now, or where he is. Or his last name. I think I just remember him because he was the first Stanley I ever met personally. Every other Stanley I know of is either a fictional character (Kowalski, Roper, Zbornak), or a famous person (Donen, Kramer, Kubrick, Lee, Tucci). And we can't forget the timeless children's classic, Flat Stanley.

Aaah, too much talking. Figure out how to get a song in here. Now it's really like "Glee," with moments that don't always call for a song, but one gets thrown in anyway. Let's see, what's the best song to randomly insert? Maybe a 1980s power ballad. Since "Glee" pretty much has an iron grip on "Don't Stop Believin'" I might as well use something else. Maybe something like this...

<center><object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LDZQGS6hoC8?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LDZQGS6hoC8?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

"Merlin" is easily my second favorite UK television series after "Doctor Who." I know pseudo-intellectuals will scoff and say, "Pshaw, there's a lot of other television that's better than 'Merlin,' it's nowhere near the original story!" and to that, I simply say "shut up." So what if it takes great liberties with LEGEND? So what if Merlin's a clumsy twentysomething? So what if Gwen is black? It's simply a new interpretation of a classic tale, let it be what it is without having a thousand years of other interpretations as excess baggage. Besides, "Merlin" has everything I want in a show: likable leads, entertaining stories that are both dramatic and comedic, and good production values to let it all come across in a pleasing way. Plus, you can't go wrong on a show that includes this hat:

<center>Image</center>

Now then, to move on from "Merlin" and onto something else. What else can I tell you about me through song? Might I enchant you with the soft lyrical voice of Audrey Hepburn, in the delightful Breakfast at Tiffany's?

<center><object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BOByH_iOn88?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BOByH_iOn88?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

Or maybe I'll let Rita Hayworth sex you up in her definitive role as Gilda?

<center><object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8equE_t3zDk?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8equE_t3zDk?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

Or perhaps we could use some dramatic moments, courtesy of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca. If you haven't seen the film yet, skip this clip. But the film's been around for almost 70 years, so why haven't you seen it yet?

<center><object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rEWaqUVac3M?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rEWaqUVac3M?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

I hope that "why haven't you seen it yet?" question didn't offend you. If it did, I'm sorry. It's understandable. We have a finite amount of time on this planet, and we can't see every movie ever made.

But if I didn't offend you, I probably should! It's not Secret Santa unless we have an offensive lace collar thrown into the mix!

<center>Image</center>

By the way, you can check out my revealing interview with Lace Collar here:

Escapay versus The Lace Collar (August 31, 2010)

I'm sure you're probably tired of reading all these delays to my actual list. That's assuming you've been reading this in proper order rather than scrolling down. But it's all for good reason. I've made you watch a lot of silly nonsense. Actually, it's not silly. Nor is it nonsense. It's a nice representation of who I am, what defines me. I'm a nerd who'll probably sing aloud the "Doctor Who" if asked. And I enjoy babies. I spoil my goddaughter like crazy.

I often will ask myself where should I start, especially in cases as the song represents. The art of "moving on" is quite difficult, and everyone's faced with it several times in their life. 2011 had several instances of myself "moving on" from things in my past. Plus, I'm sure when I get old, my voice will be just as deep and hoarse as Bea Arthur's, and then I'll finally reach the low note when I sing, "Get a little drunk, and you land in jaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiillllll."

Regarding "Merlin," maybe there isn't a real-life comparison for me. It's part of my anglophilia, I guess. But I do have black hair. Now, if only I had supernatural powers. Come to think of it, there is a connection. Merlin's gaudy hat could likely represent my hat collection.

Finally, Audrey, Rita, and Humphrey represent my psyche. Rita Hayworth is my id, she's the wild side that would love nothing more than to burst out and have fun. Audrey Hepburn is my ego, calm, reserved, and realistic. And Humphrey Bogart, he gets the super ego. A quick glance at wikipedia's definition, and the super ego is critical and moralizing, aiming for perfection. In my opinion, Bogart's acting in every role of his (that I've seen) was perfect every time. So it fits very nicely.

And we mustn't forget Lace Collar. I'm sure I've offended people before, just as Song of the South has.

But where do you, Secret Santa, fit into all of this? You fulfill the Disney requirement and represent my Muppets. Technically, the "Secret Santa" part of you is a puppet, someone that I'm familiar with. But your performer changes every year. Actually, muppets may be slightly wrong. After all, Jim Henson operated Kermit, Rowlf, Dr. Teeth, etc. for many years until his death. But every so often, someone will have to come in and take over for the character. With Secret Santa, the operator changes every year. I've had wonderful UD Secret Santas over the years: Jessica, Renata, Matthew, Aaron, Joshua, Daniel. And now, it's your turn. I believe in you, Secret Santa. And so do all my past Secret Santas. As do the Secret Cindy Lou Who's I've given gifts to. We all believe in you.

<center><object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UKc7V6joQag?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UKc7V6joQag?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

Best song ever sung by the Muppets.

No, wait.

This one is...

<center><object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2wzWctYVLT8?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2wzWctYVLT8?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

I think that's about the best way to wrap up Secret Santa: The Musical. Nothing tops it. So, I guess that means I'll have to finally tell you what I'd like to see under my tree. Each category relates to myself, with a miscellaneous category also included. But in truth, even though this is a list of 43 items, all I need is one thing: for you to have fun. I'm already grateful that you're thinking of me this holiday season, so I don't need much. Have fun with this. Surprise me. Just don't send me a lock of your hair for cloning purposes. :P

Doctor Who:
There's a variety of Classic Who that I don't have yet, but I'm currently concentrating on finishing up what I don't have from Fourth Doctor onwards. Thankfully, Fifth & Sixth Doctors are complete (at least until next year's Special Editions for "Resurrection of the Daleks", "The Caves of Androzani", and "Vengeance on Varos").

Doctor Who: The Deadly Assassin - the fourth Doctor returns to Gallifrey for the first time since his exile.

Doctor Who: Image of the Fendahl - the fourth Doctor and Leela encounter the Fendahl, a nightmarish creature from Time Lord mythology.

Doctor Who: The Sun Makers - the fourth Doctor and Leela visit Pluto in a future when it's considered a planet once again.

Doctor Who: The Creature from the Pit - the fourth Doctor, Romana, and K-9 encounter the titular creature from the pit.

Doctor Who: Meglos - the fourth Doctor, Romana, and K-9 in a forgettable adventure that I only want so that Season 18 is complete.

Doctor Who: Paradise Towers - the seventh Doctor and Mel visit Paradise Towers while viewers instead flock to other shows.

Doctor Who: Battlefield - the seventh Doctor and Ace reunite with the Brigadier, but also meet up with some Arthurian foes.

Doctor Who: The Curse of Fenric - the seventh Doctor and Ace take on Fenric, an ancient evil.

Doctor Who: Dreamland - the animated tenth Doctor returns in a story that's generally underwhelming. I mainly want this for the bonus disc, which includes three "Greatest Moments" specials.

Merlin:
Merlin Action Figures - I'm much too old to play with them, but they'll still be great to have. Since they're from the UK, you don't need to get them. Unless you're from the UK and shipping to me anyway. The first link is four the set of four, while the individual links are for the individual characters, in order of preference. (Yes, this is a direct copy/paste from last year's letter)
--Merlin Action Figure
--Morgana Action Figure
--Arthur Action Figure
--Gaius Action Figure

Merlin 2012 Calendar - since the Series 3 DVD for "Merlin" doesn't arrive in the US until January, I can't list it here. However, I do need a new 2012 calendar. 2011 was devoted to "Glee" and 2010 to Audrey Hepburn. I'd really like to look at my lovely Camelotians next year. This link is for AmazonUK, since it's not available in the US.

Merlin "Top Trumps" Cards - I can't really tell what this is, but I assume it's some type of card game. It's quite cheap, too!

Merlin Annual 2012 - I don't have any of the other annuals, unfortunately. But I've got to start somewhere...

Audrey Hepburn:
A collection of Blu-Rays and DVDs with Audrey...

The Nun's Story (DVD) - This is the only Hepburn film I need to complete my 1950s Hepburn collection. I'm not including Green Mansions because that movie is such a bore, while this one is much better.

Breakfast at Tiffany's: 50th Anniversary Edition (Blu-Ray) - Audrey absolutely shines in this film as Holly Golightly. Fun fact: my Secret Santa in 2006 was Renata, and one of the gifts she gave me was Breakfast at Tiffany's: 45th Anniversary Edition on DVD!

Charade: Criterion Collection (Blu-Ray or DVD) - This is one of my favorite Hepburn films, although props also must go to Cary Grant, and especially, director Stanley Donen. Note: If you select this, act fast and buy it at Barnes & Noble before stores close on Monday the 21st, as it's 50% off!

My Fair Lady (Blu-Ray) - I first became aware of Audrey Hepburn through this film, as it was the very first of hers that I saw. I know that Robert Harris (who worked on the 1994 restoration) is not pleased with the transfer here (he says it's a mere 30% of what we should be seeing), and I agree with his sentiments. But this version on Blu-Ray will satisfy me for now until Paramount or CBS Video cough up the money for a proper restoration.

Rita Hayworth:
None of her films are on Blu-Ray yet. But there are still a few on DVD I haven't picked up yet.

Susan and God (Warner Archive) - Rita's a supporting character in this, but I haven't seen it yet.

The Strawberry Blonde (Warner Archive) - A truly delightful movie which helped to really develop Hayworth's screen presence.

Separate Tables - this is out of print, and extremely hard for me to find even in second-hand stores.

The Money Trap (Warner Archive) - Rita Hayworth & Glenn Ford's last film together.

Humphrey Bogart:
Too many of Bogart's films are on DVD for me to list here. Instead, I'll list two favorites that I don't have yet on Blu-Ray, along with the classic High Sierra.

The Maltese Falcon (Blu-Ray) - Bogart will always be Rick Blaine or Linus Larrabbee to me, but his turn as Sam Spade is still amazing to watch. I planned on buying this for myself last year, but never had a chance to.

High Sierra (DVD) - I was recently watching Martin Scorsese's A Personal Journey Through American Movies documentary and he talks about this one early on. It reminded me how much I enjoyed it when I first saw the movie. I'm surprised I haven't picked it up yet.

The African Queen (Blu-Ray) - When the film first came out, I bought the DVD for my quick fix in order to watch the film again, and postponed on getting the Blu-Ray version of the Commemorative Box Set. But now, that version is out of print and hard to find, so I'll settle for the standard Blu-Ray.

Muppets:
The Disney-owned Muppet movies listed below are also on sale at Toys R Us for $9.99 each, and includes movie cash for The Muppets. So if you don't want to order from Amazon, you can get them there. And I already have Muppets Take Manhattan, hence its exclusion from the list. Since the season sets are out of the recommended price range, I didn't include them.

The Muppet Movie: Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition - the first Muppet movie made, and probably my second favorite (after The Muppets Take Manhattan). It's got the most heart of all the Muppet movies.

The Great Muppet Caper: Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition - I've seen this one the least amount of times, which is a pity, as I think it's the funniest of them all. I only recently rewatched it again, and I wonder why I never bought it on DVD before.

The Muppet Christmas Carol: Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition - This is a seasonal favorite, and I like it better with "When Love Is Gone" included in the film. Such a lovely song that definitely helps to define Ebenezer, especially when it's properly reprised in the end to show how he's changed.

<center><object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tfI_N0vyxaI?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tfI_N0vyxaI?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center>

Muppet Treasure Island: Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition - Rather wacky and irreverent compared to other Muppet movies. But there are plenty of moments that make me enjoy the film despite its offbeat-even-for-Muppets tone.

Muppets from Space (Blu-Ray + DVD) - This is probably the least-loved of the Muppets' theatrical endeavours, but I still love it. Sure, some of the celebrity cameos are ridiculous now (Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson, not as themselves, but as their "Dawson's Creek" characters!), but there are others that are absolute riots. Ray Liotta as the security guard, Kathy Griffin in love with Animal...

It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie - A huge letdown for the muppets, much like The Muppets Wizard of Oz (which I excluded from this list, I don't care to see it at all). But I still enjoy this film, even though there are better Christmas projects that the Muppets have done.

A Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa Extended Edition - I haven't seen this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt including it here.

Miscellaneous:
Various other movies on Blu-Ray or DVD.

Double Indemnity: Universal Legacy Series (DVD) - Lucy Ricardo hasn't trusted Fred MacMurray ever since she saw him in this movie. Meanwhile, I fell in love with Barbara Stanwyck thanks to this movie.

Pandora and the Flying Dutchman: Deluxe Edition (Blu-Ray) - I included this on my list last year, as I had recently seen the movie. I haven't seen it since, but my memory of it from last year is still very much "Omagosh, I want to see this again!" Perhaps you can help me out and get this? :D

Black Widow: Fox Film Noir (DVD) - I haven't included any Gene Tierney goodness yet, so this should remedy that!

The Egyptian: Twilight Time (Blu-Ray) - don't get this unless you're willing to spend twice the recommended price. I'm just rather annoyed that only 3000 were made. It definitely says something about the buying climate for pre-1970 films on Blu-Ray.

Doctor Zhivago: 45th Anniversary Edition (Blu-Ray Digibook) - Sure, it's no Ryan's Daughter (my favorite David Lean film), but it's damn good.

Casanova: Masterpiece Theatre (DVD) - David Tennant as Giacomo Casanova.

Under the Greenwood Tree (DVD) - Keeley Hawes as Fancy Day and James Murray as Dick Dewy.

Lost in Austen (DVD) - I recently caught this again on some cable channel called Ovation, and remembered why I loved it in the first place. And I just read that Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, etc.) will be directing the movie version. Yippee!

Lucy's Really Lost Moments - it's a lot of public domain material and stuff that's been repackaged by other cheap DVD companies (and VHS back in the day). But this one is the best version as it's by Legend Films, who offer colorized versions (eh) of some segments, all of them are also restored/remastered.

I think that about covers everything, Secret Santa. I intentionally left out Disney things, mainly because my collections are pretty much complete there, and any titles I don't have yet, I'll get on my own. But, if you want to Disney up my gift, just buy me a random vinylmation or something. Last year, in another Secret Santa on another forum, I received Disney Silly Bandz. :P

This is my third year participating in UD's Secret Santa. (You didn't start thinking about sending me a candle shaped like a "3", did you?)

Now that is some wish list, Albert. It's like <i>The Albert Gutierrez Story: An Immersive Audio-Visual Experience</i>. So glad to have you adding to the fun of Secret Santa (Thanks for UDifying your Amazon links too. Don't think I didn't notice!)

:santa:

I take it by the lack of messages to that effect here, everyone listed has received their assignments (a couple came back to me but were resent through my Yahoo! account). Hope the ten who have not yet posted here can do so by the end of the weekend, with the deals (and mailing deadlines) fast approaching.

I'm ashamed to admit that the only thing I remember sending you that year was the picture of Rachel McAdams! Although I'm glad I got you BaT as it's my favorite of all favorites. (I'll be NYC later this week -- I'll stop by Tiffany's for you)

Speaking of Audrey, I happened across this children's book in Anthropologie the other day and hope to get it some way or another, at some time in the future:

So, on with my letter.

Dear Secret Santa,

Am I being a Scrooge this year by saying that it's too soon to have Christmas again? It feels like we just had it! Anyway, I've been though a bit of a year (nothing serious, of course, but lots of little changes here and there) which might explain why I'm feeling a little muddled. Last Christmas, I had just returned from a fabulous 2-month European adventure. On New Year's Day 2011, I broke my foot and found myself on the couch, unemployed, until mid-February. From March to August, I found myself picking up all sorts of random work shifts to make up for the work I had missed, both during my European Adventure and my time on the couch, all while searching and interviewing for that elusive teaching job. Take note, this was all during the Sitepocalypse, a pretty dark time in my household.

Thankfully, I was hired by a school one week before their school year started. And now those first few months have gone by in a (crazy busy) blink of and eye and it's already time for UD Secret Santa! (And Sitepocalypse has been averted, so all the more reason to celebrate!!!)

Did you just find out more about my past year than you ever wanted to know? I thought so.

What? You want more information? Really? Okay ...

Here's the thing about me: I like to give presents more than I like to receive them. Honestly, when going to my family's Christmas celebration, I would be perfectly content if that big box of presents I haul over in my car did not get refilled with gifts for me. So, I'm sort of the opposite of being a spoiled brat in that I am bratty about receiving presents. It makes my mother very upset. Last week I could feel the frustration in the air when she asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I said, "Nothing."

In all honesty, though, does that mean that I don't like things? Of course not. I think I just become tongue-tied when I am asked what I want. See, there's nothing I really <i>need</i> and I always feel silly asking for things. I find that, in the past, I have often really wanted something and then, when I got it, I looked at it once, put it away, then forgot that I ever had it.

HOWEVER, this year, I do need items for my classroom. I almost have nothing. Really. I love books and it has always been my goal as a teacher to spark a love of reading in my students, but the books I have right now are <i>crap</i>. I buy a few here and there at thrift stores, and have received some donations from kind friends, but the collection is still pretty pitiful. I am also looking for more picture books to read aloud (it's a great way to introduce literary concepts). Do you have an absolute favorite book you'd like to share with a group of fourth graders? Well, here's your chance!

What? You want to get something for <i>me</i>? Surprise me! Don't let my above negativity throw you off. I really am a very grateful gift receiver. I like eclectic, vintagey items. I have a passion for retro bangle bracelets, pretty scarves, and lately, it seems, headbands. My shirt size is typically large, unless you're dealing with those junior novelty tees which run ridiculously small (or maybe I'm just getting old), in which case an extra large is a safer bet. Better too big than too small, I always say! I like bluebirds, orange tabby cats ('cause I own one), showtunes, peacocks, vintage hats, and old-fashioned childen's literature, among other things. Sooooooo if you happened to find a shirt, for example, that encompassed all of these items, I would either say, "That's way too tacky. Please return it," or you would be my best friend for life.

Still want to know more? Well, here's my Amazon wishlist:

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html? ... ">Renata's Wish List</a>

Thank you, ever so much!

Dear Secret Santa,

Just had the biggest nostalgic moment because of Escapay. I remember having the video of Grover on VHS when I was a kid and I would always watch it over and over.

Anyways, here are some random facts about me:
-Shirt size is adult small.
-Just bought a Disneyland Annual Pass a few days ago.
-I'm an animation major at a Cal State Fullerton! :D
-I'm a kid at heart, really. :)

Onto my wish-list!
-(Any) TaleSpin Volumes
Vol 1, Vol 2
-I would love animation artbooks! I already have Art of Incredibles, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, Up, and WALL-E. I also already have the Animator's Survival Kit.
-I love legos. I only collect Harry Potter legos so you may hit any other franchise! LOL
-Pinky and the Brain Vol 3.
-This Pooh from Disneyland/Disney World. It's so round and cute! (I only put this in in case you live in Floria or SoCal! hehe.)
-Best Buy has the new Lady Gaga Concert on blu-ray! Only Best Buy has it on blu-ray though.
-I would love the Charlie Brown Holiday Season blu-rays to get into the Christmas Spirit! :D

I hope I made it easy to shop for me! Really, I just hope that my list has given you an insight into my personality, so feel free to go off this list and get something else. :)

Btw Luke, did I link the Amazon urls correctly?
