Re: Sleeping Beauty Discusson

For me, the New Fantasyland expansion is alright, but if you're privy to the original plans... what we have now is disappointing. I still hold out some hope that we'll see some of ideas in some shape or form at some park. They were such a good idea and good ideas don't really die. I did not see the ...

Re: Sleeping Beauty Discusson

Then I assume you also saw the pics from the Sweet Heart event at Disneyland of Snow White in her peasant costume? I think it got a ton of good attention so maybe we'll start seeing the princesses in some of their other costumes.

Don't worry, we're all princess fanboys here! lol

Re: Sleeping Beauty Discusson

I always wished that Aurora would appear in the parks sometimes with Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, with Aurora wearing her Briar Rose dress. Maybe in the wooded area of new Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. Or near the Matterhorn area in Disneyland where it looks a little more woodsy/foresty. The ...

Re: The Lion King Discussion

I've heard it referred to a couple times in other threads, but people are taking objection to the hula scene? Lion King isn't my favorite Disney film, but it's hard to argue it has many flaws. I think the humor behind the hula scene is some of the best in the film. I've seen this movie hundreds of t...

Re: Disney Preschool Spin-Offs

I think they do this for a few different reasons, but some of the biggest are brand recognition and aiming them towards younger audiences does little to impact their image or lore. As part of the larger fandom, we don't view these series as impacting these characters and Disney doesn't do much to in...

Re: Cruella (Live-Action)

Isn't that kinda the point of the film though? It's an origin story, so they made it so that she learned her evil ways through and old adversary. That's the direction I interpreted it as anyway. I'd argue it's more entertaining to watch someone turn evil and go mad than just have them that way to be...

Re: Sleeping Beauty Discusson

I find the biggest differences are in the style of the film overall. Aurora works well because her style is more angular, like the film. Her proportions though are impossibly unrealistic, but that still works in this film because it fits the overall design. It gets harder to compare her to the more ...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

I think it'll end up being temporary for only a meet and greet experience. I'd bet the original will stay in shows and parades the whole time, along with appearance with the other Princesses. That is the version that's in the line-up/has merchandise, and that's also how they've treated the past live...

Re: Disney Announces Future Stage Musicals

"Greek Chorus" is a term in theatre that basically describes any group of chorus members. They'll often talk and sing in unison to help accent something that's important on the stage. It doesn't inherently mean this is Hercules. In fact I suspect it's more to do with Captain America and th...

Re: Sleeping Beauty Discusson

I saw this clip on TikTok last night (when I should've been sleeping myself), and was also shocked that I never really noticed it. I also don't mind it as much when it's used in the same movie, especially when considering the technology at the time and so much was spent on the film already. Upon ref...

Re: Hong Kong Disneyland

I agree! I'm not a huge fan of the projected faces at all, but I do see them as a stepping stone into what imagineers have been able to create in Tokyo, for the BatB attraction, and now the Frozen attraction in Hong Kong. Hopefully the next time Frozen Ever After and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are up f...

Re: Disney's 100th Year

Well, I`m looking forward to Wish , The Little Mermaid Live Action, The Story of Disney: 100 Years of Wonder Book and Disney 100 The Exhibition. I'm pretty much the same. Some of the merch in the theme parks (a lot of which is available at the few Target's with Disney Store sections) look nice, but...

Re: NYE in the Magic Kingdom

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRstHgoX/ Sorry this took so long to post! Other than the park just being open later, there were a couple of special moments. They had a few DJ’s pumping music. One was set up in Frontierland. I’m not sure when exactly they started playing, but it had to be around 8pm. I al...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

Sebastian (I'm assuming) pops up a few times too. They're going to more of a realism look for the animals it seems. That collar and sleeve on Ursula. They really are going for more of a glam for her it seems. Does anyone know if they're going for a Triton and Ursula sibling rivalry story this time a...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

It's ... a doll! A promotional toy, made of plastic. The leaked trailer showed us that the tentacles have as much autonomy and functions, if not more than the original. This doll representation is not much different from for instance the original 1989 McDonalds happy meal figurines... This. That's ...

Re: Cinderella Discussion

I'm so excited this is getting a wide release! I would love if this sort of kicks off a 100 Years of Wonder collection of some kind. I noticed while surfing Best Buy's app for steelbooks that they plan on releasing a few movies, repackaged in platinum steelbooks for the anniversary. I hope the buck ...

I've become a lot more selective in what Pop's I pick up, but those magical transformation pieces (Aurora, Cinderella, and Tiana specifically) are GORGEOUS! I'm hunting those down right away!

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

I like the fins overall, and I'm glad we're getting some (maybe all) of the sisters too. I'm a bit iffy on the Ursula design overall. An official image hasn't been released yet, so maybe I'll like it more later. I'm hoping there are higher quality dolls on the way, I think I could really get into th...

Re: Coco on Broadway

This is really exciting news! I've thought for a while that a film like this would play well on the stage, especially the spectacle of the land of the dead. I'm especially excited for the music to come from this. I know the film is a musical, but I almost don't think of it as one because the songs s...

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)

Not all people use twitter to make deep and profound statements about themselves. They literally just post a thought they had. Although I understand how interpretations vary, I'm not convinced she thought that much into it. I read it as someone trying to share that she might be proud that the charac...
