Re: Disney 100 Years of Wonder
I really liked the commercial. Not everything Disney puts out for the 100th has to include the same imagery. Everything shown is representative of the company. There is a vast history of media to choose from, so I didn't miss seeing some staples. Granted it is kind of weird what they omitted, but in...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
Some instagrammers received the same mail when the dolls were leaked the first time. I don't know why they have so many secrets with this movie. As I said before it is going to be released in May. Cinderella's dolls prototype pics were released in January. Other Disney dolls have been on sale month...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
This is very interesting to say the least. I guess we've all seen them, it doesn't hurt to take them down, but the damage is done. You'd think they'd lean more into it then threaten legal action. Oh well, que the music...

Re: Bob Iger is Back!!!
It could be that after some struggling, Marlin realizes that he's happy with the family he's got. That he doesn't need to inflict change, other than being open himself and sharing his feelings at the end. That even though Nemo and Dory aren't "normal", that's ok! Also, the notion of accept...

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
Those projects should still be there when they do go back. It's not anyone place to tell people where/when/how to spend their money. They're just saying they'll come back for the projects they're most excited about. Then they can get caught up with the rest. I personally don't mind keeping Disney+, ...

It could also be that Frozen III has been in production longer than we know of it. WDAS often has multiple productions in their pipeline that we either hear of or we don't officially. Kristen Bell sort of leaked it a few years ago, so maybe the Lopezes and cast were already tied into this, and no on...

Re: Bob Iger is Back!!!
I think it should be Finding Marlin. First Nemo gets lost, then Dory, now Marlin. It would be consistent. Maybe they can give him a new love interest too. I don't like the idea of resurrecting Coral. That would feel cheap. It would alter the family dynamics too much and undo the emotional weight of...

Re: Frozen III
I'll agree that the song, on its own, is not bad. It's placement in the film is just plain awful. I suppose you could make an excuse for it in that the story overall was in disarray. I think LitW, and Kristoff''s whole plot line was originally created for a different version of this movie. I assume ...

Re: Toy Story 5
I'd be more happy with it if Woody, Jesse, Buzz, and Bo Peep took a back seat in this one. Have them be there to help make jokes and so on, but I'd really like to see something more focused on Rex or Slinky-dog. Make one of them the hero this go around. I think that's where you draw more life into t...

Re: Zootopia 2
I agree with Sotiris on this one. I think it's a movie everyone like overall, but I don't think people LOVE it like Frozen. I'm excited for a sequel, but I'm hopeful there's actually a good story to go with it. I would love another mystery, and to go more of the direction of Sherlock Holmes. I know ...

Re: The Last of Us (2022, HBO)
I've been watching and have really enjoyed it so far! I was a little hesitant to start it, because I'm little over the whole "apocalypse/zombie outbreak" genre, but the fungal twist is pretty interesting. I like the character work in this. I do find the young girl annoying at times. I'm ju...

Re: Toy Story 5
I think the intention was just to continue "Toy Story" with Lightyear and the new Buzz. A Woody project would be weird, because if it were popular then how would to story of Lightyear really work when Buzz is supposed to be based on that movie? Unless it were styled like an Old School West...

I love how Iger never assumes responsibility for anything. As if it wasn't him who introduced and fostered initiatives, policies, and practices that resulted in Disney's decline. No, it was all Chapek's fault who was CEO for a measly two years. He is the golden boy after all! Except f...

Re: Frozen III
Frozen II seemed so... serious at times, and seemed to take itself so seriously at times. The film often felt like it was checking off a list. Like the filmmakers read all of the criticisms hurled at the first one, especially the social justice-based ones and tried to correct them. It resulted in a...

Re: Splash (Remake)
After some reflection I think I'm really into this idea. At first I wasn't, but I really love the gender swap idea and if they'd lean into that, I think it could be a lot of fun.
If they're going to remake something, I guess this one could do!

Re: Bob Iger is Back!!!
I'm empathetic to those that are going to lose their jobs, but this announcement isn't necessarily a surprise. I think we all saw it coming, and the company is restructuring so job loss was inevitable for some. In a way, I'm glad it isn't the lowest on the totem poll that are going to take the bigge...

I just want it to perform sub-par so maybe some other films get sequels, if they're hell-bent on making sequels. By name alone though, it'll probably be just fine.

Re: Frozen III
I just hope it takes a somewhat lighter approach. Frozen II seemed so... serious at times, and seemed to take itself so seriously at times. Then at the few times they tried to "check" themselves, its just came off as unfunny (the exception to me is when Olaf re-tells the first). I'm not a ...

Very wise and understanding advice, singerguy, which, coming from you, doesn’t surprise me. My point was just that the political opinions on this board are not monolithic. A little tolerance for others’ viewpoints is appreciated. Thank you! I know I'm a little bit the elephant in the room when you ...

Re: Bob Chapek Named CEO of The Walt Disney Company
I don't think this forum is the place to dissolve the conversation into quick responses about politics. It's more suited for the Off-Topic board. I also think it deserves more conversation than this. So many people just resort to quick sound bites of information, instead of actually doing research i...
