In real life, Pocahontas was married to John Rolfe.Lavendergolden wrote:Like Kocoum isn't a bad guy (although the deleted scenes planned on making him more like Gaston) but it's clear he and Pocahontas aren't in love and shouldn't be together. Even though he was her real life husband I think.

Re: Newsies on Broadway
They are definitely different experiences. I would probably say watch the movie first. The Broadway show has an extremely minimal set (I don't know theater terminology), whereas the film has actual locations. That's the biggest reason to me to watch the movie first, and the fact that the movie is th...

Re: Rank the Silly Symphonies
The Skeleton Dance, directed by Walt Disney and animated by Ub Iwerks (the first Silly Symphony short from Disney) will enter the public domain. Do you think we'll get a horror film a la "Pooh: Blood & Honey" for The Skeleton Dance ?? And a bunch more Mickey shorts will be in t...

Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2027
Probably Untitled Disney. But Untitled Disney is a close second. I snorted. That's funny. I think all of the titled films (except Bluey , because I've never watched the show, even though I've heard great things about it) are going to be good. I'm looking forward to new WDAS, Pixar, Mar...

Re: Mufasa: The Lion King (Live-Action)
I just came back from seeing this. I did not see the 2019 remake. I enjoyed it. At first I had completely mixed thoughts, but ended up clapping at the end. While they are not *my* Timon & Pumbaa, and I was nervous about the framing device, they got some laughs out of me. I also thought that Blue...

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
It's interesting, SB's puffy sleeves remind me of 1937's SW sleeves! I love, love, love the rose in SB's hair. Super pretty!! I love how the pink shows through on her sleeves, down her arms, then chest, then down the rest of the middle of the dress. Pretty intricate embroidery on SW's dress! I love ...

I like that the family matches! I prefer Lucinda's "floppy bow;" I don't know what you call Florinda's (a scarf?). I don't dislike it, but I understand the bow more. I like that one has a pink hat and one has the purple; matching but not the same! I like Mom's as well; her hat is amazing!

I haven't been around in a while, so I had to catch up. Cinderella's princess dress is my most favorite. I really like Rapunzel princess dress as well; I love the embroidery. The Baker's wife's red dress is really nice, too. (I mean, they all are nice, let's be real!)

Re: Election Day 2024
Me, three. I already have anxiety issues, but just reading the headlines everyday has me so anxious (I know it's not just me feeling this way). Just sitting back waiting for the $h1t show to start makes me feel so sick. We're going back into the dark ages it feels like.

I know I've complimented the embroidery before, but it really makes those outfits with the embroidery pop!

Re: Moana 2
Disney's going to earn tina of money with this and they are not going to learn any good lesson at all. While I enjoyed the movie and had a fun time, I had never had such low expectations for a WDFA film in my whole life, due to being nervous as to how choppy or episodic, etc, it would be. I was hap...

Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie
I saw this this afternoon. I absolutely loved it! It was really magical. I love everything Oz anyway, but it was such a good time. I laughed, I got teary eyed. Just perfect. I feel you on the broken up "Defying Gravity," but Cynthia's voice is just electrifying and amazing and so I accept ...

I just watched it. It's always a joy seeing the behind the scenes footage. I also teared up at Richard Sherman's "The Last Verse."

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
Florinda's dress is great (I mean in real life, not in a play, it'd be not as wise lol, but otherwise I'd wear it!). I meant wide ! Is Disney's Tangled's Rapunzel dress one of your favorites, because it is pink and purple? I think Rapunzel's dress is cute for sure. I don't know that I've ranked the...

Re: Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 Discussion Thread
"Rhapsody on a Theme of Pagani" was really sweet! I wonder why they cut it. This was the era of In Search of Mickey Mouse ; Disney so badly wanted all their characters to be together! This princess short was bananas, though. I agree that without the babies it'd be better (but still pretty ...

Re: Moana 2
My only issue with the film was: You kind of have to suspend disbelief at the ending: If people from other islands were coming to the cursed island, if Moana and Maui weren't already ahead and defeated the curse...um, these people would have died, or I'm missing something? And biggest coincidence ev...

I really enjoy the soundtrack. "Finding the Way" and its reprive remind me a tiny bit of "Thunder" by Imagine Dragons. In a good way, I like the song. I like all the songs on the soundtrack. I love all the versions of "Beyond.". It's constantly in my head. Auli'i's voic...

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
Sorry I've not been on here for a little while!! Cinderella's Prince is definitely handsome!! I don't understand the flare at the end of the coat (I don't dislike it, I just don't understand periods of clothing!). I love pink and purple together. I also love pink and black together, so you're hittin...
