Who else do we have that lives in Florida?
I think that this morning CNN reported that hurricane has weakened to category 2. I hope that maybe it doesn't cause as much devastation as foreseen.
Amy and UF, do you live far away from each other?

Re: Disney Duster's (and Marce82's) Art
Well done, both of you! What a wonderful initiative! I feel so silly for having neglected the "Off-Topic" sub-forum for so long. Like Mooky , I also know next to nothing about Into the Woods . (I haven't even watched the movie, but as a musician I am keen to explore Sondheim in the future....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYr7SbKVdGo&t=583s If the user who posted the video is right, Sleeping Beauty is slated for a release for later this year. If that's true, it would be amazing. Maybe they'll release it for the holidays. Regrettably, everything I've read about this YouTuber is nega...

I have to say that the story of this film's production will be very interesting should anybody be bothered to document it.

Thumper_93 , for the record I have always imagined Spaniards as predominantly white, with caucasians spanning the spectrum from blonde hair and blue-eyes with fair skin, to dark hair and eyes with olive skin. I do not understand Pokenonbinary 's drama. It's similar in my country, though olive skin ...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
I haven't watched Green Eggs and Ham, but suddenly I am reminded of DreamWorks' The Road to El Dorado. The first time I watched it I distinctly recall feeling that the animation was very fine, but somehow something felt a little off. I suspect it was the digital ink and paint system DreamWorks used ...

Honestly, I really like that flat look! I am not sure that shadows and shading will make it objectively better.

The funny thing is that the image rips off not just Mickey Mouse, but also Andy Panda (from the Walter Lantz Studio.)Disney Duster wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 10:16 pm Omg that is both hilarious and frightening. Makes you think..."What's wrong with Mickey?!"

I didn't love the YouTube comment that came up saying "Why does this look better than Wish ?" I am no fan of Wish , but I disagree this looks better. It looks just like the next homogenised, boring, mainstream animated feature with cringe dialogue and an awkward female lead ripped o...

I think this is the first person leaving WDAS where it seems inconsequential to me. I think Big Hero 6 is an excellent movie, however I was underwhelmed by Winnie the Pooh , and had issues with Raya and Strange World. Maybe this is a good thing. His vacant spot will hopefully be filled up by somebo...

Generally speaking, it looks fine. You need to get up close and personal to notice the defects I mentioned.
They will definitely be noticeable if you are watching the short projected onto a large screen.

Re: Donald Duck in D.I.Y. Duck
Oh God. I just rewatched the short on my laptop in 1080p. There are some backgrounds that are clearly low-res. You can make out the pixelation despite the low bit-rate YouTube video stream. Other backgrounds seem to have been badly photoshopped - you can tell certain elements were deleted after comp...

Re: Donald Duck in D.I.Y. Duck
Those backgrounds are hideous. It was so barebones I have no idea who this is even for. I wouldn't call them hideous, but certainly unremarkable. I liked the animation, and now I think my earlier suspicion of automated inbetweening is unfounded. If the young interns are responsible for a good chunk...

Re: Donald Duck in D.I.Y. Duck
The animation looks fine, but I wonder why the backgrounds look so flat and textureless? Agreed that the animation looks good, but on closer inspection, something seems odd. I have a sneaking suspicion they may be using Meander for some of the inbetweens. Some parts of the animation look 'artificia...
