Re: Sean Bailey Left Disney
David Greenbaum could be alright, let’s wait and see. Calling Fox Searchlight ‘indie’ is a bit of a stretch though. I guess it is by Hollywood’s definition of the term, but this studio churns out nothing even remotely independent. It’s a standard legacy studio. And Greenbaum has overseen some stella...

Re: Iwájú (Disney+ Series)
Disney is really shoving this show in my face on social media. While there’s absolutely zero organic hype for it.
And it looks worse with every ad. Heads should be rolling at WDAS for this.

Re: Bob Iger is Back!!!
Bob is all out of tricks. More sequels, a collaboration announcement with Fortnite that says ‘soon(ish)’… I mean, what was that all about lol :headshake: If investors actually buy this and not see it for the desperation that it is then they’re very stupid. Moana 2 can’t hide the loss in streaming su...

Re: Moana 2
This being produced at the Vancouver studio means it has a significantly smaller budget than the average WDAS film. Disney is going to make bank on it. I bet Iger was seeing dollar signs when he found out about that. So this is the first Disney movie to be outsourced to another country? Parts of Ta...

The amount of damage control going on at Disney right now is truly on another level.
We haven’t seen this type of nonsense since Jeffrey Katzenberg personally started cutting into the Black Cauldron.

So naive to think the public will accept a Johnny Deppless PotC.
Just give it a rest.

Can’t wait to see how they’re going to extract every ounce of charm and charisma out of this property and make it as lifeless as humanly possible.

Re: Once Upon a Studio (WDAS Short)
It’s crazy how much Disney is still posting on social media about OUAS. They’re really milking it. It does feel like they’re acknowledging that this is one of the few things they’ve made recently that has garnered critical acclaim. And something that people actually enjoyed. And all the comments und...

Re: Wish
I’m sorry but those figures do not warrant for it to be labeled as ‘clawing its way back at the box office’. It still hasn’t even passed $200 million, so I wouldn’t put this in the same category as Elemental, sorry.

Love this for John Musker! So nice that he’s free to create what he wants and is even receiving nominations for it. Much deserved!

I think at this point America is just gearing up for a civil war. Disney is just one of the many battle grounds.

These are early 2000’s numbers for WDAS. But I I’d argue those movie were more interesting than Wish.

Re: Glago's Guest
I actually kind of enjoyed this. It’s definitely from a different era. But the animation is solid and the story works.
Considering how toxic anything Russian is these days I doubt Disney would voluntarily put this out there. This is the opposite of a ‘safe’ short.

Re: Mufasa: The Lion King (Live-Action)
Bringing back Kiara really legitimizes the DTV sequel which is pretty bizarre to me somehow. Will Kion also feature?
Such a weird turn for the Lion King-verse.

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
The boy and the Heron looks to be opening at number one in the US this weekend. And if it shows some legs through the holiday weekend it will very easily outgross all previous Studio Ghibli films. Who knew audiences would show up for quality animation that doesn’t pander to them like the Disney Jr. ...
