Re: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Discussion
Do we know yet if it's a new 4k restoration a-la Cinderella?

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
The film did $68m in overseas market which is like half of Aladdin's numbers. I don't get it. If people are actually staying clear of this film because a black actress was cast as Ariel, then that's truly pathetic. https://deadline.com/2023/05/the-little-mermaid-global-opening-review-bombing-interna...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
Box Office Pro is projecting an opening weekend for the remake at $70-$90 million. Social sentiment and trailer footprints haven’t been quite as encouraging as 2019’s Aladdin to date, and the absence of a major star name (like Will Smith in Aladdin‘s case, or Emma Watson and the ensemble of Beauty ...

So, regarding TSitS, is the version on Disney Plus the 'correct' 4k restoration?
Is it the same restoration that we're hoping going to end up on this forthcoming release?

Re: Non-Disney films you love as much as Disney's best?
Prince of Egypt hands down one of the best animated films ever. Absolutely breathtaking and gorgeous. And no, it needs no association or tie-ins with Disney brands. A

Per wikipedia, she's cast as Carlotta though it looks like she's dressed as something other than a maid.

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
I'm hoping when it's out theaters are open and everyone can enjoy it the way it's meant to be enjoyed - on the big screen and with a biliion $ box office take.
If this follows the "In theaters and Disney+" pattern I'm gonna shoot myself.

Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
This is heartbreaking to know Disney has churned out a winner but theatres are closed and audiences can't experience it in the best way possible. It's a shame really since theaters are closed here and we don't have Disney Plus, there really wasn't any marketing for this movie and most people I know...

Hey Vlad, is there a better version of this Little Mermaid ad? I'm dying to read the sales stats for Aladdin and Beauty and what the red bar says about Mermaid.

Re: aristocats vs. 101 dalmations
Dalmatians. It's one of the studio's best films. Gorgeous nifty artsy style, engaging characters, top notch villain(ness). The Xerox style fits this one like a glove with the dogs fur and stains vs. the somber London setting and the snowy country road. I like Aristocats, it's fun but not on the same...

I'd rather wait a few months and buy a physical copy then support this greedy mess. God I hope it backfires on those morons.

Re: Mulan (Live-Action)
I'm saddened by this news. All other major titles were pushed back, why not wait another 6 month/a year and let this roll out normally? What a mess. This should have been a $1-1.5B juggernaut. Losers.

IMDB Rating Walt Era DAC
Hi all So, I want to share something that's really been bugging me. Anyone noticed how the great classics, Walt-era films have steadily declined in IMDB ratings? For instance: Just a few years ago Snow White was in the late 7.0's, now its 7.6. Pinocchio went down from 7.6 to 7.5. Bambi down from 7.6...

I'm curious to know what transfer of Little Mermaid they're showing on Disney +? Is it the Diamond or the Signature one? Thanks
