Re: Worst Romance in a Disney Movie

Another horrible romance is that of Runt and Foxy Loxy from Chicken Little. Runt telling the aliens not to change Foxy Loxy's personality back so he could be with her is all kinds of disturbing. It's surprising no one making the movie realized that. Other romantic relationships I don't care for are...

Re: Disney Movie Club Blu-ray Exclusives

They should just re-release the Treasures sets on Blu-ray. That would be something truly special. YES.   I would buy every one. They came out back when I was in middle school. I so regret not getting them now, but it would've been hard for me to buy them back then, I had even les...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney

“On the eve of Disney’s 100th anniversary, it was such a joy to create the first new Oswald short from our studio since 1928,” says McKim. “Our hand-drawn animation team—including our hand-drawn legends Mark Henn, Randy Haycock, and Eric Goldberg, as well our wonderful team of 2D apprentices —had a...

Re: Worst Romance in a Disney Movie

Although it's my favorite movie, I'm gonna have to admit the romance between Phillip and Aurora is pretty funny to me. The scene after "Once Upon the Dream" where Phillip is yelling "When will I see you again" and Aurora goes from "Never" to "Tonight, in the Woodcu...

Re: Disney’s Biggest Animated Flops

I love how the creators of this list just forgot Home on the Range even exists. It's funny, because if you look through the comments someone pointed out that some box office sites like boxofficemojo are suffering from some typos that effect what profits look like on that site. So HotR looks like it...

Re: Bob Chapek Named CEO of The Walt Disney Company

I'm not saying that I feel bad that Chapek got booted, but is anyone else feeling a little conflicted about how all of this played out? It just seems like Disney drags their feet, and takes so many precautions as to not look a certain way, but they got him good. Like, the man didn't see any of this ...

Re: Walt Disney Animation GIFS in Slow Motion.

These are all so lovely! I've spent a lot of time looking at stills of characters, but not really in slow motion. It's really beautiful how some of these subtle moments are. They give you more character than any of their lines do in some cases.

Re: Dreamworks Animation in Trouble

Overall the change doesn't really bother me. It just seems to scroll past their "greatest hits" not unlike how Marvel or DC does with theirs. I do agree it's less classy, but then again is that brand of class synonymous with Dreamworks Animation to begin with? I also don't understand...

NYE in the Magic Kingdom

This year, I'm traveling to WDW for the New Year's Eve weekend and will be spending the NYE day in The Magic Kingdom. I know they do a select few special things like a count down on the castle to midnight, but I was curious if anyone here had insight into anything else I should expect? Some friends ...

Re: What's your favorite movie in the Disney Revival so far?

I had no idea how long this would take me, haha! 1. Frozen 2. Tangled 3. The Princess and the Frog 4. Moana 5. Encanto 6. Zootopia 7. Wreck-It Ralph 8. Big Hero 6 9. Frozen II 10. Strange World 11. Raya and the Last Dragon 12. Ralph Breaks the Internet 13. Winnie the Pooh I have to say, I'm kinda su...

Re: Treasure Planet Appreciation Thread

This movie came out when I was of the "I'm too cool for animated movies" age, but I do remember seeing a poster for it when I was tasked with the very grown-up task of taking my younger siblings to Lilo & Stitch. At the time I didn't understand the premise of this at all. I was a huge ...

Re: Strange World

Ok, I might be pulling out my tin foil hat for this one, but I think that Scott Mendelson quote says a quite part out loud about the serious lack of marketing for this film. I think Disney is harpooning original theatrical-release animated projects so they can move them to Disney+, and making a case...

Re: Strange World

I just got home from seeing the movie. I don’t know if I should go into too many spoilers since it’s main release is in a few days, and I’m sure most of you will see it by then so I’ll just keep to myself for the time being. The movie is visually stunning, I think. I didn’t find the story to be over...

Re: Disenchanted

I watched this a few days ago and have been sitting in my thoughts on it since. I agree with almost every point Marce82 made, and I found myself really enjoying the film overall. The first film came before the live-action remake madness we're suffering now, but I found it interesting how the remakes...

Re: Strange World

So last year with Encanto, I felt it had a very middling box office opening. But once it came to streaming, it blew up and became everyone and their grandma's favorite movie. Is it possible for Strange World to also have a Christmas streaming boom, and most people will skip out in theaters BECAUSE ...

I'm pretty sure bringing Iger back (if you're arguing that Iger is a champion of "wokeness"), would be proof that going "woke" is the better business decision.

I just checked the theater I'm visiting for times tomorrow and apparently Strange World is already being shown there today! At 6pm and 8pm showing times only though Same for my local theater so I'm going at 6pm (CST) tonight. As of a few moments ago, I'm the only ticket sold. It's not that strange ...

Re: Bob Iger is Back!!!

I think overall this IS a good thing. Chapek was overall hurting the brand in the public's eyes, whether or not his ideas were good or bad. In fact, I think I do understand some of his decisions and moves on a business perspective but he seriously lacked any bedside manner. I think you'd be a fool t...

Re: Strange World

I went into downtown Chicago last night and at every bus stop they had large, bright, and animated screens advertising the film that rotated every few mins or so. It was really cool to see, and I even heard people talking about it in the street so they were being noticed.
