Re: Wish

It's a good question. Most likely, the did make the costumes, but I tend to think that Disney knew they had a dud on their hands early on, but it was too late the pull the plug. That helps me grasp that lack of advertising and merch overall. Does anyone have any casting calls from that time maybe? I...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

I think Sebastian looks the way I expected him to look, so I'm not surprised. I don't really think he. or Scuttle for that matter, look bad, but I'm not surprised they look more realistic. They sort if match the over all style of the film we've seen so far!

Re: Pinocchio Discussion

Without having done a ton a research, I think people were still trying to define what Snow White was by awards season. I think that was the whole point of it's special Oscar. I think people recognized it was a tremendous achievement, but didn't know how to reward that.

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

ugh... you're reminding me how much I was disappointed from that film. I think I was firs lost the moment I heard the auto-tune in Emma's singing, then my eyes hurt from rolling by the time we got to the magical teleporting book they practically rolled out of their sockets. I still have faith for th...

I think Chris Pine has an AWESOME voice that will attribute a villain song especially. I'm really looking forward to seeing/hearing how this plays out!

I can't really put my finger on it, but I'm just tired of this movie already. I'm going to go see it, and I'm sure I'll enjoy myself, but so far I'm not sold that it's something I'll re-visit often. Onward is kinda like that with me. I really don't have too many complaints overall, it visually inter...

I can't really bring myself to but into these movie poster ones, but I heard rumor of a Sleeping Beauty one dropping this summer. If that's true, I'm in danger.

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

It sounds like the song "For the First Time" has the exact same function, purpose, and placement as "Beyond My Wildest Dreams" written for the Broadway musical. If so, then what's the point of writing a new song instead of reusing that one? Academy Awards. That and it might also...

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

But it isn't horrible, I think the general audience score is showing that. No, it's not a masterpiece but it is a good popcorn flick that's fun. I agree that I'm sure some Marvel fans are influencing the overall score, but like I said before, I think its a good MCU movie but not on its own. Since we...

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

I think it's a great MCU movie, but a bad movie on it's own. What I mean is that I really enjoyed it, but I think the general audience needs to have seen a few other MCU films to really like it. I think that's why it's critics are giving it low scores but audiences are the opposite.

Re: Streaming vs. theaters - how do studios make money?

I enjoy going to the theater over streaming. I like the experience, so my suggestion is always going to be to go to the actual theater. In Puss in Boot's case though, I'd especially suggest it. It's a great film, and imo plays much better on the big screen. Hollywood needs to know we want more films...

It's so hard to predict anything that marketing machine does anymore. We're seeing now with TLM that we can only make guesses. It seems to me like they're already lining up their excuses in case Wish does do poorly. "Yeah, we didn't do anything wrong. The movie underperformed because of The Mar...

New emotions could also reside in other places of the body. Kind of like on a ship, there's the bridge but also engineering. As certain situations come up another area can overpower the head. Thinking about being accused of "thinking with my stomach" for example. As Riley goes into adultho...

I love the set design and costumes we've seen so far. This whole production is very exciting and I really hope it does come to Broadway. I don't know if I'll be able to see it in New York, but I'd love to see it tour through Chicago!

Re: Meet the Robinsons

I really like BHG overall. My only complaint is that he was written a little too dumb. I understand that he would've only had enough schooling as Goob would've had before dropping out, but I think his uneducatedness comes off as really dense and a little offensive towards people with complexes. Some...

Re: Lightyear

I think it really boils down to Buzz Lightyear being a campy subject matter and them taking it all entirely too seriously in this film. It really should have been more of a silly romp through space, more akin to the animated series, than a serious science-fiction flick. It seems like they're still d...

Re: Haunted Mansion (Remake)

Aside from being about ghosts, it's not really going to be a Halloween movie. Ghosts and spooky material exists outside of Halloween. It's also really only a 2 week difference when all is said and done. It seems like they are pretty conscious of the complaints surrounding the first, so I hope they h...
