Top 20 Animated Classics Countdown 20. The Emperor's New Groove (2000) |
|||
"One of the best elements of Emperor's
New Groove is the humor. It's
a bit dry and sarcastic, but it works. The reason
it works is because of the voices behind the characters.
David Spade (Kuzco), John Goodman (Pacha), and
Patrick Warburton (Kronk) provide the necessary ups and
downs to portray how they feel. Whether one
is plunging to his death off the bridge or thanking
someone for saving their life, they make me understand
the true feelings behind the spoken word."
"Most of Disney's Animated Classics rely on a formula
of story and song to carry the film. The Emperor's
New Groove completely bucks the trend and delivers a
heavy dose of comedy, led by the villainous tandom of
Yzma and Kronk."
"Kuzco's heart of gold is masked by a stubborn exterior
that never goes away completely. Kuzco is the perfect
mixture of 'I love you' and 'I'd love to smack you.'"
"The freshest Disney movie ever done. Brilliant character animation and
marvellous timing. 78 minutes of pure animation and comedy." 11/25/03 |
